Time Machine by H.G. Wells

Reviewed by Caroline G.

The Time Machine is an interesting and captivating science fiction and adventure novel written by H.G. Wells.
The book is about a man named The Time Traveller (as you never find out his true name) who travels from the late 1800s in England to the year 802,701 A.D.. During his time in the future, the Time Traveller discovers two races of creatures that are descendants of humans. One race, the Eloi, live above ground and are beautiful, fragile, very childlike, always playing and laughing, never working. The other race, the Morlocks, live underground and spend their time working on new machines. The Time Traveller later makes some strange and horrifying discoveries about these new people’s lifestyles and the relationship between the Eloi and the Morlocks.
The book is written very well. It is thrilling and suspenseful and really makes you, as the reader, want to keep on reading and find more out about this new world which appears utopian but really isn’t.
I recommend that you read this book. Out of a 1-5 scale of rating, I would rate this book a 4-4.5. I would give it that rating because I thought that it was an interesting book with a unique idea.

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull

Fablehaven is a five book series written by Brandon Mull.  Fablehaven is a heart stopping fantasy series.  It is so worth the read!

It starts out where Kendra and Seth go to their grandparents house. Their grandparents give them a book that is locked.  If they can find the keys (which are hidden in their grandparents house), they will be able to see what the diary says.  When they finally open the book, all it says is “drink the milk”.  What’s that supposed to mean?  When Kendra and Seth drink some milk, they can see fairies flying around the house! They soon learn that there is an evil witch on the property.  What will they do?  Read the book to find out!  And guess what?  That's just the first book!

If you liked the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings series, Hunger Games series, or the Eragon series, then you will probably like the Fablehaven series.  Fablehaven is a great novel that will really capture your attention.  I really hope you'll read it!

Sisters Grim by Michael Buckley

Review by Brigit K.

The Sister’s Grimm is a book about two young girls, named Sabrina and her younger sister Daphne, whose parents are taken away from them at christmas time. They are sent from orphanage to orphanage, they have been adopted a lot but either they have ran away or the person was a crazy psycho maniac who belongs in an insane asylum .    The last person to adopt them was a woman who claimed to be their grandmother. Her name, was Granny Relda.   Her friend that lives with her is named Mr. Canis.  Granny Relda has brought them into the Land of Everafters and a secret about Mr.  Canis is revealed.  He is the big bad wolf living to protect the family from all the angry everafters waiting for the last of the grimms to die. The reason that they want the grimms to die is because . . . cough.. cough.. blurgh...  sorry but I can not tell you  that. See I am an everafter who got cursed with a spell where if I tell you that will spoil or ruin the  surprise.  I rate this book five out of five stars.  If you like the first book there are more in the series!!!!!!!
