Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes

Ghost Boys is about life and the afterlife of a young African American boy named Jerome. Jerome is twelve years old he lives in Chicago in a rough neighborhood. Jerome's life is rough and when he dies in a tragic accident it rocks the world around him. This story is will inform any reader about the problem with police brutality and prejudice against African American people. This book is compelling, sad, rewarding, and all round amazing.

The best part of this book is when Jerome finds justice in his case about the accident. This is the most important part to me because that how it should be you should not get you justice depending on your skin color race or gender you always deserve justice no matter what happened.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a really good book about the problems with unjustified violence towards African American children and adults. I would only recommend this to children nine to ten above because it can be a little serious and really sad so definitely needs a mature audience only.
